TOWN COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA

1.    Call to Order

 

2.    Announcements:  (TM)

·         Motor Vehicle Tax Bills will be mailed in the next few weeks.  Although there are less than six (6) months left in the tax year, State law requires quarterly billing.  The quarterly due dates will be March 15th, March 30th, June 15th and June 30th.  There will be no late penalty applied for the March 15th or the June 15th billings as long as they are paid by the 30th of the respective month.

·         AAA Community Traffic Safety Award:  2019 marked 60 years in Barrington NO PEDESTRIAN FATALITIES

·         Monday, January 18, 2021 Martin Luther King Day:  Town of Barrington offices and schools are closed.

·         Barrington Heritage Hall of Fame:  Deadline to submit an application is Sunday, January 31, 2021.  Eligibility:  Present or former resident of the Town of Barrington in which the nominee had made significant civic service or philanthropic contributions to the Town of Barrington.  Posthumous selections are acceptable.

·         Special State Election:  Tuesday, March 2, 2021. 

§  Last Day to register to vote is January 31, 2021.

§  Last day to apply to receive a mail ballot is Tuesday, February 9, 2021 by 4:00pm https://vote.ri.gov.

§  Early voting will take place at the Town Hall in Council Chambers beginning Wednesday, February 10, 2021 and ending March 1, 2021.

§  Special Election Tuesday, March 2, 2021:  Only one (1) poll will be open at the Town Hall in Council Chambers.  Poll opens at 7:00am – 8:00pm
