CRANSTON CITY COUNCIL

Notice of Special Meeting

 

FEBRUARY 24, 2020

 

            A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, February 24, 2020 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Cranston, Rhode Island.

 

            The meeting was called to order at 6:10 P.M. by Council President Farina.

         

Roll call showed the following members present:  Council Members Stycos, Hopkins,  McAuley, Donegan, Brady (appeared at 6:25 p.m.), Paplauskas, Council Vice-President Favicchio and Council President Farina -8.

 

            Absent:  Councilmember Vargas-1.

 

            Also Present:  Daniel Parrillo, Director of Administration; John Psilopoulos, Deputy Director of Administration; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst and Evan Kirshenbaum, City Council Legal Counsel.

 

            On motion by Council Vice-President Favicchio, seconded by Councilmember Paplauskas, it was voted to go into Executive Session pursuant to RIGL 42-46-5(a)(1) Personnel and RIGL 42-46-5(a)(2) Potential Litigation.  Motion passed on a vote of 7-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, McAuley, Donegan, Council Vice-President Favicchio and Council President Farina -7.  Councilmember Brady was not present for roll call.

 

Meeting went into Executive Session at 6:04 p.m.

 

Present in Executive Session:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, McAuley, Donegan, Brady (appeared at 6:25 p.m.), Council Vice-President Favicchio and Council President Farina.

 

            Daniel Parrillo, Director of Administration and John Psilopoulos, Deputy Director of Administration were present in Executive Session for the discussion regarding City Clerk position. 

 

            Daniel Parrillo, Director of Administration; John Psilopoulos, Deputy Director of Administration; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Evan Kirshenbaum, City Council Legal Counsel and David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst were present in Executive Session for the discussion regarding Yardworks.

 

 

            On motion by Council Vice-President Favicchio, seconded by Councilmember Paplauskas, it was voted to come out of Executive Session:  Motion passed on a vote of 8-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, McAuley, Donegan, Brady, Paplauskas, Council Vice-President Favicchio and Council President Farina -8.

 

The meeting came out of Executive Session at 7:00 p.m.

 

            On motion by Councilmember McAuley, seconded by Councilmember Paplauskas, it was voted to seal the minutes of Executive Session:  Motion passed on a vote of 8-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, McAuley, Donegan, Brady, Paplauskas, Council Vice-President Favicchio and Council President Farina -8.
