Notice of Special Meeting

 

JANUARY 27, 2020

 

 

 

 

 

A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Cranston, Rhode Island.

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:20 P.M. by Council Vice-President Favicchio.

 

Roll call showed the following members present:  Council Members Stycos, Hopkins, Vargas, McAuley, Donegan, Brady and Council Vice-President Favicchio -7.

 

Absent:  Councilmember Paplauskas and Council President Farina -2.

 

Also Present:  Daniel Parrillo, Director of Administration; John Psilopoulos, Deputy Director of Administration; Robert Strom, Director of Finance; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.

 

Council Vice-President Favicchio asked if Mr. Hunt was notified of this meeting.  City Clerk stated, yes.

 

 

Council Vice-President Favicchio stated that there was some confusion with the CLCF Football Teams Citations.  They are on the Docket for the 7:00 p.m. meeting, but they assumed it was at 6:00 p.m.  He asked that since they were present for the Mayor’s Citations, if there are no objections, the Council will present them with the Council’s Citations prior to going into Executive Session, so they don’t have to wait an hour.  No one objected.

Councilmembers Brady and McAuley presented Citations to the members of the teams.

 

 

On motion by Councilmember Hopkins, seconded by Councilmember McAuley, it was voted to go into Executive Session pursuant to RIGL 42-46-5(a)(1) Personnel and RIGL 42-46-5(a)(2) Potential Litigation.  Motion passed on a vote of 7-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, Vargas, McAuley, Donegan, Brady and Council Vice-President Favicchio -7.

 

Meeting went into Executive Session at 6:22 p.m.

 

Present in Executive Session:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, Vargas, McAuley, Donegan, Brady and Council Vice-President Favicchio; Daniel Parrillo, Director of Administration; John Psilopoulos, Deputy Director of Administration; Robert Strom, Director of Finance; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.

 

 

On motion by Councilmember Brady, seconded by Councilmember Hopkins, it was voted to come out of Executive Session:  Motion passed on a vote of 7-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, Vargas, McAuley, Donegan, Brady and Council Vice-President Favicchio -7.

 

The meeting came out of Executive Session at 7:00 p.m.

 

On motion by Councilmember Hopkins, seconded by Councilmember McAuley, it was voted to seal the minutes of Executive Session:  Motion passed on a vote of 7-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, Vargas, McAuley, Donegan, Brady and Council Vice-President Favicchio -7.
