Notice of Special Meeting
MAY 18, 2020
A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, May 18 via Web-ex.
The meeting was called to order at5:10 P.M. by Council Vice-President Favicchio.
Roll call showed the following members present: Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, McAuley, Donegan, Brady, Paplauskas and Council Vice-President Favicchio -7.
Absent: Councilmember Vargas and Council President Farina -2.
Also Present: Daniel Parrillo, Director of Administration; Mark Marchesi, Purchasing Agent.
RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE EMERGENCY COVID-19 SPENDING AUTHORIZED BY THE MAYOR FOR AN EARLIER LEASE AGREEMENT WITH RENAISSANCE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, ANY INTERIOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AND ANY ASSOCIATED MOVING COSTS FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 35 SOCKANOSSET CROSSROAD
On motion by Councilmember Brady, seconded by Councilmember Hopkins, it was voted to adopt the above Resolution.
Under Discussion:
Director Parrillo stated that the City went out for RFP and this location was the lone bidder. He also stated that the agreement has been revised based on some consideration for three-year term with two one year option and five year option after that if the City wishes.
Councilmember Stycos thanked the Administration for setting up the tour of Norwood Ave. and taking up the suggestions in revising this agreement.
Council Vice-President Favicchio asked if this is more costly to the City from the original agreement. Director Parrillo stated that the terms are exactly the same, we just extended it.
No one from the public appeared to speak.
Roll call was taken on motion to adopt the above Resolution and motion passed on a vote of 7-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilmembers Stycos, Hopkins, McAuley, Donegan, Brady, Paplauskas and Council Vice-President Favicchio -7.
The meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
