Notice of Special Meeting
APRIL 19, 2021
A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, April 19, 2021 via ZOOM.
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 P.M. by the Council President.
Roll call showed the following members present: Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Renzulli, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas -8
Absent: Councilwoman Vargas.
Also Present: Anthony Moretti, Director of Administration; Christopher Millea, City Solicitor; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Robert Strom, Director of Finance; Daniel Parrillo, Director of Personnel; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.
Council President Paplauskas stated that he sees on the call the phone number 480-9414 and asked if that is Attorney Verdecchia. Solicitor Verdecchia stated that it is. Council President Paplauskas stated that he sees CTM on the call and asked if that is Solicitor Millea. Solicitor Millea stated that it is. Council President Paplauskas indicated that Director Strom is also on the call with phone number 780-3120.
Attorney Angell indicated that we should make sure that the U-Tube link has been disabled so we are not broadcasting on U-Tube. Council President Paplauskas stated that he does not see the U-Tube link enabled. City Clerk indicated that she did not log into that.
Councilman Ferri stated a point of concern, we are going into Executive Session and people do not have their videos on. How do we know they do not have someone in the room with them? Director Strom stated that with him in his office is Director Moretti.
Council President Paplauskas asked if anyone that has their video off, are you alone in your space? Everyone responded yes.
On motion by Council Vice-President Brady, seconded by Councilman Donegan, it was voted to go into Executive Session pursuant to RIGL 42-46-5(a)(1) Personnel. Motion passed on a vote of 8-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Renzulli, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas -8.
Meeting went into Executive Session at 5:03 p.m.
Present in Executive Session: Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Renzulli, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas; Anthony Moretti, Director of Administration; Christopher Millea, City Solicitor; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Daniel Parrillo, Director of Personnel; Robert Strom, Director of Finance; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.
On motion by Council Vice-President Brady, seconded by Councilman Donegan, it was voted to come out of Executive Session. Motion passed on a vote of 8-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Renzulli, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas -8.
The meeting came out of Executive Session at 5:41 p.m.
On motion by Councilman Reilly, seconded by Councilwoman Germain, it was voted to seal the minutes of Executive Session. Motion passed on a vote of 8-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Renzulli, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas -8.
The meeting adjourned at 5:42 P.M.
