CRANSTON CITY COUNCIL

Notice of Special Meeting

 

MAY 24, 2021

 

 

 

 

            A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, May 24, 2021 via ZOOM.

 

            The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by the Council President.

        

Roll call showed the following members present:  Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady (appeared at 6:05 p.m.) and Council President Paplauskas -8.

 

            Absent:  Councilwoman Renzulli -1.

 

            Also Present:  Anthony Moretti, Director of Administration; Daniel Parrillo, Director of Personnel; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Stephen Angell, City Council Legal Counsel; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.

 

On motion by Councilman Reilly, seconded by Councilwoman Germain, it was voted to go into Executive Session pursuant to RIGL 42-46-5(a)(2) R.I.G.L. Sec. 42-46-5(a)(2) Collective Bargaining Negotiations:  Teamsters Local Union 251 FY July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2024.  Motion passed on a vote of 7-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly and Council President Paplauskas -7.  Council Vice-President Brady was not present for roll call vote.

 

Meeting went into Executive Session at 6:03 p.m.

 

Present in Executive Session:  Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas; Anthony Moretti, Director of Administration; Daniel Parrillo, Director of Personnel; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Stephen Angell, City Council Legal Counsel; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.

 

            On motion by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilwoman Germain, it was voted to come out of Executive Session.  The following being recorded Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas -8.

 

 

The meeting came out of Executive Session at 6:24 p.m.

 

 

            Chair stated that, for the record, no votes were taken in Executive Session.

 

            On motion by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Council Vice-President Brady, it was voted to seal the minutes of Executive Session.  Motion passed on a vote of 8-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilwoman Marino, Councilman Ferri, Councilwomen Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Reilly, Council Vice-President Brady and Council President Paplauskas -8.
