The meeting was called to order at 8:32 P.M. by the Council President.

Also Present: John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Stephen Angell, City Council Legal Counsel; David DiMaio, City Council Budget Analyst; Rosalba Zanni, Assistant City Clerk/Clerk of Committee.
Report from the Chair, Councilman Andujar, on the SPECIAL ORDINANCE COMMITTEE meeting held *May 15 June 2, 2025:
RESOLUTION Requesting the Rhode Island General Assembly to Amend R.I. Gen. Laws § 44-3-3 to Grant Tax-Exempt Status to the Little Flower Home for Property Located at 85 West View Avenue, Cranston, RI. Sponsored by Mayor Hopkins and Councilwoman Haroian.
Council President Marino stated that the Resolution was denied in Committee so no vote will be taken on that Resolution. She noted that shelters of this nature are regulated by State Law and allowed in these residential communities. It is not this legislative body that allows or disallows the sale of those properties nor do we have absolute oversight of it. The residents are well served to lobby their General Assembly members and the Governor if they wish to change that law.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35p.m.
Rosalba Zanni
Assistant City Clerk/Clerk of Committees
