MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF OCTOBER 19, 2022 AT 7:00P.M.
CUMBERLAND PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING, COMMUNITY ROOM

CLOSED SESSION
The special meeting was called to order at 7:00p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Council President Kinch, Councilors Magill, Schmitt, Bradley, Beaulieu, Shaw, and Metivier.
Also present –Mayor Jeffrey J. Mutter, Town Clerk Sandra M. Giovanelli, Town Solicitor Kelley Morris
Salvatore; Chief of Police Matthew Benson; Special Counsel Joe Rodio
1. EXECUTIVE SESSION:
VOTE BY OPEN CALL TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS ITEMS OF BUSINESS CITED IN R.I.G.L. §42-46-5 (a) 1-9)
a. Discussion pertaining to litigation - RIGL 42-46-2(a)(2) – Litigation Update.
b. Sessions pertaining to collective bargaining - updates on collective bargaining unit for IBPO. R.I.G.L. § 42-46-5(a)(2). Potential votes
MOTION BY COUNCILOR SHAW, SECONDED BY COUNCILOR MAGILL, AND IT IS VOTED TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION. VOTE 7/0
The two topics were taken in reverse order with item “b”, IBPO, being heard first. Councilor Bradley recused himself prior to item “a” being heard as the second matter and left the meeting.
MOTION BY COUNCILOR SHAW, SECONDED BY COUNCILOR BEAULIEU, AND IT IS VOTED TO SEAL THE MINUTES. VOTE 6/0.

2. ADJOURNMENT: 
MOTION BY COUNCILOR BEAULIEU, SECONDED BY COUNCILOR MAGILL, AND IT IS VOTED TO ADJOURN AT 7:49PM, BY A ROLL CALL. VOTE 6/0.
