THE CUMBERLAND BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6, 2022 AT 7:30P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 7:31p.m. by Chairman Metivier
Present in-person: Chairman Metivier, Commissioners Kinch, Bradley, Magill, Shaw, Beaulieu, and Schmitt

A. Acceptance of Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 2, 2022
MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MAGILL, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, AND IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE BY A ROLL CALL. VOTE 7/0.
LICENSES FOR PUBLIC HEARING
A. CLASS B NON-TRANSFERABLE LICENSE
1. An application for a Class B Non-Transferable license from The SPG Group LLC d/b/a Koury’s Tavern located at 80 Manville Hill Road
Pending DOH, certificate of good standing, retail sales permit, insurance.
Public hearing opened at 7:33pm.
Kenneth Koury, 621 Providence Street, Woonsocket was present to speak to the application.
Public hearing closed at 7:34pm.
Outdoor seating numbers were discussed as well as the 10:00pm curfew for outdoor serving.
MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SHAW, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, AND IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE, WITH A LIMIT OF 20 OUTDOOR SEATS, BY A ROLL CALL. VOTE 7/0.
B. PERMANENT OUTDOOR EXPANSION OF PREMISE FOR SERVING OF ALCOHOL 
1. An application for a Permanent Expansion of Premises from Jason LaScola d/b/a J. Grays Tavern located at 405 Mendon Road
Public hearing opened at 7:47pm.
Jason LaScola, 66 Roland Street, Cumberland was present and explained he wanted to make the temporary Covid seating available all year round.
Neighboring property owner Kayla Woods, 4 Marshall Avenue, expressed concerned about some of the noisy patrons.
A resident from Berkeley Commons expressed the same concerns.
Philip Welsh, 4 Julie Street, spoke in favor of the application
Indoor outdoor seating capacity discussed. An annual review was discussed in the event it became evident that it would be necessary to scale back the number of outdoor patrons in attendance.
MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SHAW, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, AND IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE, WITH THE STIPULATION OF AN ANNUAL REVIEW, BY A ROLL CALL.
