MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CUMBERLAND BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 16, 2023 AT 7:30P.M.

CALL TO ORDER Video

The meeting was called to order at 7:31p.m. by Chairman Metivier

Present: Chairman Metivier, Vice Chair Magill, Commissioners Kinch, Shaw, Beaulieu, Schmitt and Bradley

Absent: Vice Chair Magill, Commissioner Beaulieu

 

ACCEPTANCE OF PREVIOUS MINUTES Video

A.  Acceptance of Minutes of the special meeting of July 19, 2023.

 

MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SHAW, AND IT IS VOTED TO APPROVE.  VOTE 5/0.

NEW BUSINESS Video

A.  CLASS F LIQUOR LICENSE

1.   An application for a Class F license from Fred Lermer of the Cumberland Beagle Club for Layla’s Dream to be  held on September 9, 2023 at 425 Nate Whipple Highway

 

Pending verification that food is provided by a licensed caterer or Mobile Municipal Food Establishment.

 

Fred Lermer, 2970 Mendon Road; past president, current board member and treasurer, was present to represent the Beagle Club and answer any questions from the Council.

 

Public hearing opened at 7:32pm

 

Mr. Lermer explained that Layla’s Dream Ride was started to fight childhood sepsis issues and fund Toy Drives for Hasbro Children’s Hospital Critical Care Unit. They anticipate 60-90 riders, another 30-40 attendees.

 

Public hearing closed at 7:34pm

 

MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SHAW, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, AND IT IS VOTED TO APPROVE SUBJECT TO THE ABOVE APPROVALS.  VOTE 5/0.
