CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 7:31 o’clock pm

 

Present: Chairman Robert G. Shaw, Jr.; Vice-Chair Lisa A. Beaulieu; Commissioners at Large Michael L. Kinch and Peter J. Bradley; Commissioners Timothy Magill, James K. Metivier and Commissioner Jodi C. Sweet – 7.

 

ACCEPTANCE OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

A.    Acceptance of Minutes of the regular meeting of December 4, 2024.

 

MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER MAGILL, IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE THE ACCEPTANCE OF PREVIOUS MINUTES.  VOTE 7/0.

 

OLD BUSINESS

A.  CLASS BV LICENSE-PUBLIC HEARING

An application for a stock transfer of the Class BV License for Restaurante Serra Da Estrella, Inc., 168 Broad Street

PUBLIC HEARING OPENED AT 7:32 O’CLOCK PM

 

MOTION BY VICE-COMMISSIONER BEAULIEU, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE THE FOREGOING CLASS BV LICENSE.  VOTE 7/0.

 

 

B.  CLASS A LICENSE-PUBLIC HEARING

Transfer application of the Class A license from CWS Operating Co. Inc d/b/a Mendon Wine & More transfer to JJT Inc. d/b/a Mendon Wine and More, 2170 Mendon Road.

PUBLIC HEARING OPENED AT 7:32 O’CLOCK PM

 

Keith Gillis, Representative for JJT Inc, explained that this is a transfer of license, and the operations of the business are the same, it is just an ownership change.

 

PUBLIC HEARING CLOSED AT 7:33 O’CLOCK PM

 

Chairman Shaw explained that is transfer is pending MASS BCI, Retail Sales Permit, Insurance Certificate and Letter of Good Standing.

 

MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER METIVIER, IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE THE FOREGOING CLASS A LICENSE PENDING THE SUBMISSION OF THE PROPER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS. (VOTE 7/0)

 

NEW BUSINESS

A.  CLASS D – ONE DAY EXTENSION OF HOURS

An application from Joao Marques on behalf of Clube Juventude Lusitana for permission to remain Open until 2:00 a.m. on January 1, 2025, for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

 

Chairman Shaw noted that Commissioner Metivier has recused himself on the forgoing matter.

 

PUBLIC HEARING OPENED AT 7:34 O’CLOCK PM

 

Joao Marques, President of the Lusitana Club, explained this is just to extend business for one hour on January 1, 2025.

 

PUBLIC HEARING CLOSED AT 7:35 O’CLOCK PM

 

MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KINCH, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER BRADLEY, IT IS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO APPROVE THE FOREGOING CLASS D-ONE DAY EXTENSION OF HOURS. (Commissioner Metivier is recorded as recusing vote and Commissioner Sweet is recorded as voting Nay) (VOTE 5/1)

 

B.  CLASS B NON-TRANSFERABLE LICENSE – PRESENTATION & PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE

An application for a Class B Non-Transferable license from The Rogue Island Group LLC d/b/a Rogue Island Local Kitchen and Bar, 405 Mendon Road.

 

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Chairman Shaw stated the following businesses listed below have signed a 30-day Fire Inspection affidavit, following the motion made at the December 4, 2024 meeting:

 

American Legion

Davenports Family Restaurant

Godavari

Cumberland Wine and Spirits

Our Lady of Fatima

Pat’s Italian. 

 

Chairman Shaw stated that Valley Park Pub is still delinquent on Food Safety Manager Certificate, and the Fire Inspection is scheduled for December 18, 2024 between 10:30-11:00 a.m.
