Any person who submits a communication to the Council and wishes to speak on it must indicate this in writing no later than 4:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting. A person who lists more than one topic on their communication will be allowed to speak on the first one listed.

All persons wishing to make public comment shall sign a public comment sheet stating their name, address and the subject of their comments. Each speaker will be limited to three (3) minutes. The order of speakers will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and the maximum time for public comment shall by limited to thirty (30) minutes per meeting.

1. Request for plan to use remaining ARPA funds allocated to former Oldham building. Councilman Lawson
Chief of Staff Resende stated there are no more funds available.
2. Information from the City Assessor related to the publishing of the 2025 property tax rate. Councilman Lawson
New assessed values will not be available until May 2025
3. Request to know if the city can assist with a Hometown Heroes Initiative and if they can produce the banners in house. Councilman Lawson
Chief of Staff Resende will work with Councilman Lawson as to size and the application process
4. Request administration into replacing the dock at Bold Point with a floating dock. Councilman Lawson
Department of Public Works Director, Dan Borges will look into options to present to Councilman Lawson
5. Narragansett Bay Commission treatment plant on Campbell Avenue odor complaints. Council Vice President Rego
Council vice President has received multiple calls from residents with odor complaints. A follow up is necessary.
6. Railroad update. Council Vice President Rego
City Solicitor informed the Council they he reached to railroad for update on clean up; Response pending.
7. Update of fire department’s rescue mutual aid call in 2025 to date. Council Vice President Rego
Chief of Staff Resende presented the council with a final update from 2024
8. Discussion and review of property encroachment on Grassy Plains Park and Tanglewood Drive (City of East Providence v. Steven & Constance Donahue PC2022-06687). Councilman Lawson
A meeting will be scheduled to further discuss claim with be set up with resident’s attorney, city solicitor and Mayor Bob DaSilva
9. East Providence Restaurant Week June 15th – June 21st. Council Vice President Rego
Vice President Rego was appointed chair of a subcommittee to include Councilman Lawson and Councilwoman Sousa
10. Discussion relating to citizen’s complaints about rising gas and electricity rates from RI Energy. Council President Rodericks
Council President requested RI Energy to attend Council Meeting to discuss customer complaints

1. An ordinance in amendment of Chapter 18 of the revised ordinances of the City of East Providence, Rhode Island, 1998, as amended, entitled “vehicles and traffic”
Article X entitled “Stopping, Standing and Parking” is amended by adding thereto the following: Sec. 18-317. Resident Parking Only. (a) The following streets shall be designated as Resident Parking Only: Ivy Street from Waterman Avenue to Blanding Street, both sides, from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays and Saturday and Sunday, all day.
