The Special Meeting of the Exeter Town Council was called to order at 6:05 p.m., on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the Exeter-West Greenwich Jr/Sr High School Library, 930 Nooseneck Hill Road, Exeter, Rhode Island.

No. 2 JOINT MEETING WITH THE EXETER-WEST GREENWICH SCHOOL COMMITTEE AND TOWN OF WEST GREENWICH TOWN COUNCIL: HIGH LEVEL 2023– 2024 BUDGET DISCUSSION:

The budget was presented by Exeter-West Greenwich School Superintendent James Erinakes, who spoke about a favorable year for the member towns. The increase will be approximately

$125,450.00 for Exeter.

Mr. Erinakes reviewed how the five-year rolling average was a positive change for the towns as it has already served to smooth out the steep changes to the towns’ contributions that would be due to enrollment changes. He forecasts that this will continue to benefit both towns into the future.

Discussions ensued regarding various capital projects at the schools, including new roofs and rehabbing the Junior/Senior High School auditorium.
