Town Treasurer Maria Lawler presented Draft No. 1 of the proposed budget. She and Council reviewed the draft line by line. Lengthy discussion ensued. Adjustments were made, which will be reflected in Draft
No. 2 at the next budget hearing.
Council at recent meetings has discussed ways to increase notification of Town meetings,
events, etc., to the Public. Council Assistant Kenneth Findlay proposed using ClickSend,
a community notification system using text messages and gave an explanation of how it
works and how much it costs. The Library uses ClickSend. Library Director, Tien Tran,
will meet with Council at the next budget meeting to discuss this further.
As there are many questions about the new building purchased by the Town at 742 Ten Rod
Road, Mr. Findlay suggested that a temporary sign be installed.
MOTION made by Mr. Patterson to direct Public Works to install a temporary sign
identifying 742 Ten Rod Road as the “Future Town Hall”; seconded by Mr. Lefebvre;
and voted unanimously in the affirmative.
MOTION made by Mr. Patterson to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Mr. Lefebvre;
and voted unanimously in the affirmative.
The Special Meeting was adjourned at 9:27 p.m.
