The Emergency Meeting of the Exeter Town Council was called to order at 6:33 p.m., on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Council Chambers, Exeter Clerk’s Office, 675 Ten Rod Road, Exeter, Rhode Island.

No. 3: DECLARATION THAT EMERGENCY MEETING CALLED DUE

TO UNEXPECTED OCCURRENCE REQUIRING IMMEDIATE ACTION

TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC:

MOTION made by Mr. Morrissey declaring that the emergency meeting is called

due to an unexpected occurrence requiring immediate action to protect the public;

seconded by Ms. Allen; and voted as follows:

No. 4: EXECUTIVE SESSION:

Mr. Ellis did not see why the matter should be in Executive Session.

When Council reassembles in Open Session, the results of the Executive

Session will be made public.

Members of the Public left the room, in order for Council to enter into

Executive Session.

MOTION made by Mr. Patterson to enter into Executive Session to discuss

Agenda Item 4.A, RIGL 42-46-5(a)(2), Litigation, Appeal of David W. Thornley

to Board of Elections; seconded by Ms. Allen; and voted as follows:

Diane Bampton Allen Yes

Calvin A. Ellis No

Council entered into Executive Session at 6:35 p.m., adjourned Executive Session

at 7:05 p.m., and reassembled in Open Session.

Members of the Public rejoined the meeting.

Council announced that in Executive Session, it voted unanimously not to pursue

and to accept the Board of Elections’ decision.

No. 5: ADJOURNMENT:

MOTION made by Mr. Morrissey to adjourn the meeting; seconded by

Ms. DeFrancesco; and voted unanimously in the affirmative.

The Emergency Meeting was adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
