No. 1: CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL:

The Special Meeting of the Exeter Town Council was called to order at 6:02 p.m., on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Council Chambers, Exeter Clerk’s Office, 675 Ten Rod Road, Exeter, Rhode Island.

No. 2: RIGL 42-46-5(a)(1): STATEMENT BY TOWN CLERK REGARDING NOTICE COMPLIANCE: PUBLIC WORKS WORKER PRE-TERMINATION HEARING: The Clerk stated for the record: “Agenda Item No. 3 is expected to be held in closed session pursuant to RIGL 42-46-5(a)(1), which states “Any discussion

of the job performance, character, or physical or mental health of a person or persons provided that the person or persons affected shall have been notified in advance in writing and advised that they may require that the discussion be held at any open meeting.” The employee to whom Agenda Item No. 3 relates was notified of tonight’s pre-termination hearing by correspondence dated April 22, 2024, via email, regular mail, and hand delivery. In same correspondence, the employee was notified that he or she could elect to attend this meeting with or without Union representation and/or with or without legal representation. The employee was also notified that if he or she wished to have the hearing heard in open session, he or she should contact and notify the Town Clerk before tonight’s hearing. The employee has not contacted the Town Clerk nor her office in this regard.

No. 3: EXECUTIVE SESSION:

MOTION made by Mr. Lefebvre to enter into Executive Session to discuss Agenda Item No. 3A, RIGL 42-46-5(a)(1), (2), and (4), Collective Bargaining, Public Works Worker, Pre-Termination Hearing; seconded by Ms. Allen; and voted unanimously in the affirmative.

Council entered into Executive Session at 6:05 p.m., adjourned Executive Session

at 6:31 p.m., and reassembled in Open Session.

MOTION made by Ms. DeFrancesco to seal the minutes of the Executive Session;

seconded by Ms. Allen; and voted unanimously in the affirmative.

MOTION made by Ms. DeFrancesco to affirm all votes taken in Executive Session;

seconded by Ms. Allen; and voted unanimously in the affirmative.

No. 4: ADJOURNMENT:

MOTION made by Ms. DeFrancesco to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Ms. Allen;

and voted unanimously in the affirmative.

The Special Meeting was adjourned at 6:31 p.m.
