            Pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 203 of the Town Charter and in accordance with Sections 42-46-2., 42-46-4., 42-46-5., and 42-46-6., RIGL, I hereby call a Special Meeting of the Town Council to formally consider, discuss and act upon the following items of business. All items on this agenda, may be considered, discussed and voted upon.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG

 

 

1.    Continuation of Executive Order 2020-01 (Declaration of State of Emergency in Middletown by the Town Administrator) through and including April 22, 2020.

 

Said meeting will be conducted by telephone conference call on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 6:00 P.M., in accordance with Executive Order 20-05, issued by Governor Raimondo on March 16, 2020, which modifies certain provisions of the Open Meetings Act (“OMA”) and the Access to Public Records Act (“APRA”) through April 15, 2020 as part of the State’s emergency response to COVID-19. 1.    Continuation of Executive Order 2020-01 (Declaration of State of Emergency in Middletown by the Town Administrator) through and including April 22, 2020.

 

 

Town Solicitor Peter B. Regan explained the Governor’s Office requested that all communities in the state continue their Declaration of Emergency for thirty days, which will expire April 22, 2020.  The continuation requires Council approval.

 

The vote was taken by roll call.

 

On motion of Council President Sylvia, duly seconded, it was voted unanimously to approve the Continuation of Executive Order 2020-01 (Declaration of State of Emergency in Middletown by the Town Administrator) through and including April 22, 2020. (Council President Robert J. Sylvia, Vice President Paul M. Rodrigues, Councillor Terri Flynn, Councillor Henry F. Lombardi, Jr., Councillor M. Theresa Santos, Councillor Dennis B. Turano and Councillor Barbara A. VonVillas voted YES to the MOTION)
