AGENDA

1.    Public Hearing – Consider adoption of proposed amendments to the Middletown Rules and Regulations Regarding the Subdivision and Development of Land to address amendments required by legislation adopted in the 2026 session of the RI General Assembly, including Article 2 Definitions; Article 4 Procedures for subdivision and land development project approval, Sections 402, 404, 405, 406; Section 805 regarding appeals; and Section 909 regarding unified review.

2.    Recommendation to the Town Council on proposed amendments to Town Code Chapter 152,  zoning ordinance to address amendments required by legislation adopted in the 2026 session of the RI General Assembly, including Section 400 Definitions; adding Section 732 regarding Supportive and Functional Emergency (SAFE) units; Section 903 regarding unified review; Section 904 regarding variance and special use permit approvals; Section 906 regarding modifications; Section 1304 regarding parking requirements; and Article 17 regarding procedures for review of affordable housing comprehensive permit applications.

3.    Review of document comparing the goals, policies, and action items of the current Middletown Comprehensive Community Plan and the new draft comprehensive plan, and consider scheduling a public hearing to present and accept input on the draft new plan.

All items on this agenda may be considered, discussed and voted upon. This meeting location is accessible to the handicapped.
