1.       Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 10:05 am by Chair Ed Brady. Twelve (12) of thirteen (13)  voting members were present or represented by an alternate.

Also present: Matt LaRue, Tina Stanislaski, Justin Viglianti, Soha Mohammed-Eltaher,  Alexandra Christiana, and Connor Heinzman, HMFH Architects; Ed Cifune and Emma  Osborne, DBVW Architects; Justin Bernard and Colin McCarthy, OPM, Colliers Project  Leaders; and Tony Murgida and many others from Gilbane Building Company.

2.       Groundbreaking Ceremony

Superintendent Niemeyer served as the master of ceremonies and many dignitaries and  students from the Middletown School District performed and spoke.

Chair Ed Brady introduced himself and the School Building Committee members. He made  the following statement, “We would like to thank the people of Middletown and fellow  Rhode Islanders for their investment for the Children of Middletown and its Military  Families. This committee has and will continue to dedicate countless hours in the Planning,  Design, Building and closeout of this new school.”

Chair Brady continued, “We formed a project team to accomplish this: Colliers Project  Leaders of Providence, Owners Project managers Civic Group of Providence our Educational  Planners. HMFH Architects of Cambridge Massachusetts partner with DBVW Architects of  Providence along with the team of Engineering Consultants, Gilbane Building Company of  Providence, our Construction Manager. You have seen the display boards giving you a  glimpse of our new school. So now look out on the grass field, fenced and equipment on  site waiting for us to break new ground so let’s get digging!”

3.       Adjournment: 

The Middletown School Building Committee adjourned their meeting at 10:52am.
