Middletown School Committee Electronic Filing

of Meeting Notices/Minutes with the Secretary of State

 

ELECTRONIC FILING OF MEETING NOTICES/MINUTES WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATE

 

            Pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 42-46-6 and 42-46-7 as amended, all public bodies must electronically file meeting notices and meeting minutes with the Secretary of State.  The new Open Meetings Law aims to increase public access to municipal and state government.

 

            In accordance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, the Secretary of State has developed a web-based application designed to accept the filing of such notices and minutes and has promulgated rules and regulations relating to the filing process.  These rules and regulations are available for public inspection online at www.state.ri.us/cpi or at the Office of the Secretary of State, Civics and Public Information Division, located in Room 38 of the State House.

 

            All information to be filed on behalf of Middletown Public Schools will be done through the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent.
