1.   A MOTION TO RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE the 2021 annual reports from various Boards and Committees.

 

2.   A MOTION TO APPROVE a Class F-1 Alcoholic Beverage License for the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce for the “Restaurant Week” fundraising event to be held on March 22, 2022 at the Towers, subject to state and local regulations.

 

3.   A MOTION TO APPROVE the real estate addendums in the amount of $471.94 and motor vehicle addendums in the amount of $295.39.

 

4.   A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for General Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Services to the lowest bidder, JMB Mechanical, Inc. at their quoted bid prices for a one-year period, ending March 20, 2023.

 

5.   A MOTION TO APPROVE the contract extension for Professional Stenographic Reporting Services with three (3) vendors: Lisa Thacker, Alesha Cerrito, and Dianne Edson at their quoted rates/prices for a one-year period, in order to have a pool of qualified stenographers available for public hearings of the Town Council and various boards. 

 

6.   A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for Sign Poles to the lowest bidder, Traffic Signs and Safety, Inc. at their unit costs of $19.27 for 10’ green u-channel poles and $8.95 for 3.5’ galvanized u-channel poles for a one-year period, ending March 21, 2023.

7.   A MOTION TO READ, PASS, AND ADOPT as a second reading amendments to Chapter 38 entitled “Law Enforcement” of the Narragansett Code of Ordinances, specifically to amend Section 38-23 entitled “Qualifications for appointment to the police department” at the Police Department’s request.  READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopeck 4-0)

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

8.   A MOTION TO APPROVE the 4th Amendment to the Wireless Communication Tower/Antenna Lease Agreement with New Cingular Wireless for AT&T communications equipment at the Point Judith Water Tank site.  APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopech 4-0)

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

9.   A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for Seasonal Trash Receptacle Rubbish Removal for the Public Works Department to the sole bidder, Joe Harvey Landscaping, at their quoted prices $39,882.00 (per barrel cost of $6.28) for Year 1 and $39,882.00 (per barrel cost of $6.28) for Year 2.  AWARDED (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopech 4-0)

 

10. A MOTION TO APPROVE the donation of a 2005 Elgin Pelican SE surplus street sweeper to the Town of Jamestown, RI, for parts etc. APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopech 4-0)

 

11. A MOTION TO APPROVE the one-year contract extension for Rental of Tables, Chairs, and Tents with Pranzi Tents and Events for the Towers at their quoted bid prices, under the same terms and conditions as the original contract.  APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopech 4-0)

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

12. A MOTION TO APPROVE a three-year volleyball league agreement with Newport Volleyball Club, 270 Bellevue Avenue, Suite 240, Newport, RI  02842 at the town beach, and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the agreement. APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopech 4-0)

 

13. A MOTION TO APPROVE the 2022 contract agreement for the 45th annual concert on the Beach with the R.I. Philharmonic Orchestra, in the amount of $24,000.00 and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the contract after review by the Town Solicitor.  APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED (Kopech/Cicilline Buonanno 4-0)

 

14. A MOTION TO APPROVE the 2022 contract agreement for production support services with Bill Brackett Theatrical Productions, LLC for the 45th annual concert on the Beach, in the amount of $11,950.00 and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the contract after review by the Town Solicitor. APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED (Kopech/Cicilline Buonanno 4-0)

 

15. A MOTION TO APPROVE the sponsorship agreement with Citizens Bank as per attached for the 2022 RI Philharmonic Concert Sponsorship.  APPROVED (Kopech/Cicilline Buonanno 4-0)

 

16. A MOTION TO APPROVE the request from the National MS Society for their annual Ride in Rhode Charity Bike Ride to be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022, subject to state and local regulations. APPROVED (Kopech/Cicilline Buonanno 4-0)

17. A MOTION TO RECEIVE AND MAKE A DETERMINATION on the validity of a Voter Initiative to amend the Town Charter to establish that the Town Council may “acquire property within or without its corporate limits for any town purpose….and may lease, mortgage, manage, sell, and control such property as its interests may require, but only may sell real property with an appraised value of over $500,000.00 after approval by the town’s voters after being submitted to the electorate on referendum ballot at the next scheduled election or special election...”  RECEIVED AND DETERMINED VALID (Cicilline Buonanno/Kopech 4-0)
