1.      A MOTION TO APPROVE the waiver of interest for taxpayers in accordance with Ordinance 2010-936.

 

2.      A MOTION TO APPROVE the annual fire extinguisher inspection and repairs for the Town from Keane Fire & Safety in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00.

 

4.      A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for the Solid Waste Removal/Dumpster Service –Scarborough WWTF to the sole bidder, Republic Services, Inc. for each of the two (2) bid items, in the annual amount of $1,870.56 (trash) and $5,400.00 (grit and other waste) for a one (1)-year period.

 

6.      A MOTION TO APPROVE the annual service agreement for the water meter reading system from Itron, Inc. in the amount of $7,278.75.

 

7.      A MOTION TO AWARD the contract for the Festival of Lights Holiday Fireworks Display to Central Maine Pyrotechnics in the amount of $3,999.00 and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the contract after review by the Town Solicitor.

 

8.      A MOTION TO APPROVE the proposal from Fuss & O’Neill and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the agreement for professional services to perform sampling related to illicit discharge investigations for Town storm drainage systems that drain to Scarborough Beach in the amount of $8,900.00.

 

9.      A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of six (6) FirePro X Thermal Imaging Cameras and Accessories from MES - Municipal Emergency Services, Inc. in the amount of $3,251.94.

 

3.   A MOTION TO APPROVE, RATIFY AND CONFIRM the pump repairs completed for the Ouida Pump Station by Associated Electro-Mechanics, in the amount of $7,848.00.  APPROVED, RATIFIED AND CONFIRMED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0)

11.  A MOTION TO APPROVE the recommendations of the Sewer Policy Committee to approve the request for relief relative to Plat C Lot 344-A (85 Narragansett Avenue).  APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0)

 

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

12.  A MOTION TO READ, PASS AND ADOPT as a second reading, “An ordinance in amendment of Chapter 70 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Narragansett, Rhode Island, entitled ‘Taxation and Finance’.”  READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 4-1; Murray opposed)

 

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

 

13.  A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of Winter Road Salt from Mid-American Salt LLC at $72.72 per ton delivered for Solar Salt for the FY 22/23 winter season, per the State of Rhode Island Master Price Agreement.  APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0)

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

14.  A MOTION TO AWARD the Request for Proposals (RFP) for Architectural/Engineering Services Point Judith Fire Station Improvements to Aharonian & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $36,450.00 (Tasks 1 - 3) and 9% of the estimated probable construction cost of the recommended design (Task 4).  AWARDED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0)

 

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

15.  A MOTION TO APPROVE the request from the Narragansett Lions Club for their Annual Christmas Dinner scheduled for December 25, 2022 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the North Beach Club House and Lions Club Pier Plunge scheduled for January 1, 2023 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Town Beach, subject to state and local regulations.  Motion to amend the starting time to 6:00 am.  AMENDED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0) MAIN MOTION APPROVED AS AMENDED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0)

 

16.  A MOTION TO APPROVE the two agreements with Warm Winds Ltd., for a five-year surf lessons agreement and a five-year weekly surf camp agreement at the Town Beach, and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign the agreements.  APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED (Cicilline Buonanno/Dzwierzynski 5-0)
