1. A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of thirty (30) replacement Encoder Reader Transmitters for customer water meters from Stiles Company, in the amount of $5,941.80.
2. A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of MagiCard Printer Supplies from the lowest quoted vendor, ColorID, LLC, in the amount of $3,987.45.
3. A MOTION TO APPROVE the annual software support contract agreement for the RecPro Recreation Management System from RC Systems, Inc., in the amount of $4,450.00.
4. A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of one (1) Commercial Treadmill for the Fire Department from Precision Fitness Equipment, in the amount of $4,649.00.
5. A MOTION TO APPROVE a six-month contract extension for the ClerkBase Retrieval System from ClerkBase, a division of CompBase, Inc., in the amount of $2,850.00.

OLD BUSINESS:

6.      A MOTION TO ADOPT amended Council Rules. Motion to amend Rule 1(b) line 3 to “President and the President Pro Tempore” and replace Rule 11(f) with “Any member of the Town Council may contact the Town Solicitor regarding any questions they may have.  When pertinent all Council members will be informed by the Town Manager of the response or recommendation of the Town Solicitor.”  AMENDED (Kopech/Lawler 4-1; Cicilline Buonanno opposed)  MAIN MOTION ADOPTED AS AMENDED (Kopech/Ferrandi 4-1; Cicilline Buonanno opposed).

FIRE DEPARTMENT

7. A MOTION TO APPROVE the five (5)-year lease agreement with Avive Solutions, Inc. and to expend the first year’s funds for fifty (50) Avive Connect AED Systems and accessories for town-wide distribution with a total five (5)-year cost of the program at $74,709.63, broken down to $18,909.63 the first year and $13,950.00 each of the next four (4) years. APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Ferrandi 5-0)

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

8. A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for Rubbish Removal – Beach for the Parks and Recreation Department to the sole bidder, Joe Harvey Landscaping at their quoted bid price of $65,000.00 annually, for a two (2)-year period.  AWARDED (Cicilline Buonanno/Ferrandi 5-0)

 

9. A MOTION TO APPROVE the solicitation for bids for a Narragansett Town Beach Carrying Capacity Study.  APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Ferrandi 5-0)

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

10. A MOTION TO AUTHORIZE Staff to write a letter of objection to CRMC requesting a Public Hearing relative to the installation of floating aquaculture gear at 1 Jonathan Island. AUTHORIZED (Cicilline Buonanno/Ferrandi 5-0)
11. A MOTION TO WAIVE  the required debt-to-income ratio for a pending Community Septic System Loan application for property located at Assessor’s Plat W, Lot 52, 12 Kingfisher Road, Narragansett; and AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign a letter to RI Housing, after Town Solicitor review.  PULLED FROM AGENDA BY THE TOWN MANAGER

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

12. A MOTION TO APPROVE a one (1) -year contract extension for Water Testing and Miscellaneous Water Quality Consulting Services with R.I. Analytical at their quoted prices for a one (1) -year period, under the same terms and conditions as the original bid. APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Ferrandi 5-0)
13. A MOTION TO APPROVE the contract extension for Miscellaneous Repair and Construction for the Water Division, Wastewater Division, and Public Works Department for a one (1)-year period with George Sherman Sand & Gravel Company, Inc. and Boyle & Fogarty Construction Co., Inc. at their quoted unit prices and percentage mark-ups for outside contracted services and materials (excluding Bid Items 2F and 2G), under the same terms and conditions as the original contract.  APPROVED (Cicilline Buonanno/Ferrandi 5-0)
