  2. A MOTION TO APPROVE the one-year contract extension for General Construction Services with Abcore Restoration Company, Inc. at their quoted bid prices (revised to meet the prevailing wages schedule) and mark-ups, under the same terms and conditions as the original contract.
  3. A MOTION TO APPROVE, RATIFY AND CONFIRM the emergency repairs made to Police Department Car 3 by Mike’s Service Auto Body in the amount of $2,905.77.
  4. A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase and installation of equipment for one (1) new Police vehicle from Global Public Safety in the amount of $3,980.00.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

10.  A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of one (1) Volanti Plan Review Table for Fire Prevention from Volanti Displays, in the amount of $10,297.00. APPROVED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

  1. A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase and installation of one (1) new Playground Structure for Leroy Thompson Memorial Park from M.E. O’Brien and Sons, Inc., in the amount of $49,700.00. APPROVED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

12.  A MOTION TO APPROVE the residential lease as per attached for the caretaker’s residence at 95E Middlebridge Road for a five (5)-year term beginning April 2023 through March 31, 2027.  APPROVED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

  1. A MOTION TO APPROVE Victualling, Holiday, Theater, and Dance/ Entertainment license applications for Narragansett Casino LLC, dba Narragansett Casino, 11 Pier Market Place, Narragansett, RI, subject to local and state regulations. MOTION TO CONTINUE (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)
  2. A MOTION TO APPROVE a Victualling and Holiday License application for Queen of Cups LLC, d/b/a Queen of Cups, 3 Pier Market Place, Narragansett, RI, subject to local and state regulations. APPROVED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

  1. A MOTION TO APPROVE the renovations to the Information Technology (IT) Department at Town Hall, to be completed by Abcore Restoration Company, Inc., in the amount of $148,320.00, Automatic Temperature Controls, Inc., in the amount of $158,383.00, and E.W. Audet & Sons, Inc., in the amount of $21,250.00, for a total amount of $327,953.00, utilizing the General Construction Services Contract, State Master Price Agreement and the General Electrical Services Contract. APPROVED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

16.  A MOTION TO WAIVE its current cost limit policy and AUTHORIZE the use of the Miscellaneous Repair and Construction Services Contract with George Sherman Sand & Gravel Co., Inc. to complete drainage improvements to the existing 12” storm drain on Ashton Lane for $25,800.00, Davisville Lane for $25,735.00, and complete replacement and repairs of the existing 6” drain line on South Bay Drive for $40,000.00 for a total amount of $91,535.00. WAIVED AND AUTHORIZED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

 

17.  A MOTION TO APPROVE a Change Order Addendum, as requested by the vendor, to Article 8.1 Subsection B of the Miscellaneous Road Construction 2021 Contract awarded to T. Miozzi, Inc. (now LLC), to allow for price adjustments commencing during the Covid-19 Pandemic and the continuing cost of inflation. MOTION TO CONTINUE (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

 

TOWN COUNCIL

 

18.  A MOTION TO DIRECT the Town Manager to solicit bids for third party vendors to collaborate with Town for development of short-term rental ordinance. FAILED (Lawler/Kopech 2-2; Councilors Lawler and Ferrandi opposed)

 

19.  A MOTION TO DIRECT the Town Manager to locate potential areas in the Town for a dog park and provide estimated costs for dog park. DIRECTED (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

 

TOWN SOLICITOR

  1. A MOTION TO RECEIVE and MAKE A DETERMINATION on the validity of a Voter Initiative to amend the Town Charter to “establish procedures whereby all candidates for Town Council and School Committee would be elected on a partisan basis, that is by placing a party designation on the ballot next to the name of any candidate.” RECEIVED AND DETERMINED AS VALID (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)

21.  A MOTION TO RECEIVE and MAKE A DETERMINATION on the validity of a Voter Initiative to amend the Town Charter to establish that the Town “is only able to sell real property with an appraised value of $500,000.00 or more only with voter approval but would be able to sell any property with a lesser value without voter approval.” RECEIVED AND DETERMINED AS VALID (Lawler/Kopech 4-0)
