Law § 42-46-5 (a)(1) for sessions pertaining to job performance, character, or physical or mental health of a person or persons.  All persons affected have been notified in advance in writing and advised that they may require that the discussion be held at an open meeting.

b.   Discuss and act on Memorandum of Agreement between RI Department of Environmental Management and the Town of New Shoreham re: Maintenance at Mohegan Bluffs: $100,000 over five-year term

c.   Correspondence: Notice of Public Hearing - Zoning Board: Special Use Permit – Block Island Housing Board, Plat 18, Lot 2-3

 

5.   Set Public hearing date for New Shoreham General Ordinance re: Prohibited Consumption of Cannabis in Public

 

6.   Discuss and act on request of Chris Blane re: hunting:

a.   Close shotgun deer hunting in the National Wildlife Refuge Plat 1, Lot 16

b.   Suspend the Black Rock lottery hunt

 

7.   Discuss and act on a request from Verizon Wireless for lease of a portion of land at the Transfer Station for a wireless telecommunication facility

 

8.   Discuss and act on Medical Center request for:

a.   Letter of consent for the Medical Center construction project as the landlord of the property

b.   Amend the Medical Center lease to include Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requirements

 

9.   Discuss and act on recommendations from the Harbors Committee:

a.   Defining live-on-boards as any person(s) on board a vessel for more than two consecutive weeks

b.   Prohibiting off-season live-on-boards in water of Old Harbor from November 1, to May 1

c.   Requiring live-on-boards in the waters of the Town of New Shoreham to carry liability, hull and environmental insurance

 

10. Discuss and act on parking ordinance/regulations:

a.   Review and act on proposals for Town of New Shoreham ordinance amendments

b.   Review and act to make request of the State Traffic Commission for specific parking prohibitions on state roads

 

11. Update, discuss and act on 2023 Town Visitor Communication Test

 

12. Discuss Rhode Island State Police budget update

 

13. Discuss and act on Board, Commission and Committees:

a.   Consider expanding the Harbors Committee to include an alternate position

b.   Consider requesting legislation to expand the membership of the Zoning Board of Review to add one additional alternate

c.   Appoint two Town representatives to the Sam P. Meadow Property Management Committee for a one-year term

d.   Water District Commission members and Sewer District Commission members:

i.    Accept resignation from Kathy Szabo

ii.   Appoint Diane Hayde as full member, filling the unexpired term of Kathy Szabo, term expiring April 30, 2024

iii.  Appoint Lars Trodson as full member, term expiring April 30, 2023

e.   Announce vacancies:

i.    Commission on Motor Vehicles for Hire (1)

ii.   Water District Commission (2) Alternate

iii.  Sewer District Commission (2) Alternate
