New Shoreham Board of License Commissioners Meeting

Present: First Warden Keith Stover, Town Council members Molly O’Neill, William McCombe, and Tristan Payne.  Absent: Second Warden Nancy Dodge. Also present were Town Manager Amy Land, and Town Solicitor Nick Solitro via Zoom.  Deputy Town Clerk Keisha Brown was present for the recording of minutes. 

 

First Warden Stover called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

 

Board of License Commissioners

1.      Hold Public Hearing, discuss and act on Outdoor Entertainment License for GSP Table Productions, Inc., Stockholder: Sadie Flateman, d/b/a Virginica Pizza, 125 Corn Neck Road, Plat 6, Lot 134

 

Sadie Flateman represented GSP Table Productions. Ms. Flateman stated that she would like to have outdoor entertainment on certain days from 4pm to 8pm, in accordance with her neighbor’s schedule, and would like to have bands of 4/5 pieces. Ms. Flateman plans to open by mid-July.

 

Mr. McCombe questioned if Ms. Flateman was planning on using amplification and if it was necessary, she responded, yes. Ms. Flateman stated that she understood the regulations, including decibel levels, position of speakers etc.

 

Mr. Stover asked where the outdoor entertainment would take place, Ms. Flateman stated that it would be adjacent to the non-alcohol side of the building; facing the building, it would be to the left. She clarified showing the area on a map.

 

Mr. Stover stated that the Town is working on the current Noise Ordinance as there has been a lot of complaints/issues with other license holders. He stated that there are currently four or five other OE Licenses in that area, and he is hesitant to issue another in that area.

 

George Davis, who was present at the meeting, spoke on how the License Holders in that vicinity worked together, so no two businesses were playing at the same time.

 

The Board deliberated on various options available to Ms. Flateman.

 

Keith Stover made a motion to grant an Outdoor Entertainment License to GSP Table Productions, Inc., Stockholder: Sadie Flateman, d/b/a Virginica Pizza, 125 Corn Neck Road, Plat 6, Lot 134, with the following stipulations:

1.      Music occurs only at times Licensees in the vicinity are not playing

2.      Limited to a one artist and or/ two-piece ensembles only

3.      Paul Deane, prior to opening establish and verify reasonable on site amplification.

Molly O’Neill seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion carried.

Absent:1 (Dodge)

 

 

Tristan Payne made a motion to adjourn at 7:26pm, Keith Stover seconded and all were in favor.
