1.      Welcome new member, Brad Marthens- The board welcomed new member Brad Marthens to the board.

2.      Elect officers – This item was tabled until the next meeting in January.

3.      Discuss and act on minutes of July 24, 2025 meeting- Mr. Spier made a motion to approve the minutes from July 24th, 2025, Ms. Collins seconded and all were in favor. 3 Ayes (Spier, Collins, Tunney) 0 Nays, 1 Abstain (Marthens) 1 Absent (Transue)

4.      Discuss and act on community feedback, if any-  Mr. Marthens inquired about the Scooters on the Island. Chief Deane commented that there are no regulations on them currently, but the new Transportation Safety Board is looking into restrictions for the usage areas. Ms. Collins asked for a follow-up on the previous discussion regarding the school bus.  Chief Deane stated that they have done some bus trailing and spoken to the school committee about a camera.

5.      Update from Police Chief Paul Deane- Chief Deane reported that the overall attitude and behavior has been better.  The new parking ticket system is working well.  He will position CSO’s at Bridgegate Square as a reminder to follow the rules of the road and will attempt an education session with business owners prior to next summer. Overall he felt that the golf carts were a better option than the mopeds, the one concern is driving at night due to limited visibility.  Ms. Collins inquired about the “tip 411” system. Mr. Deane felt it has taken some of the load off of dispatch since they can field messages at their discretion instead of fielding phone calls.
 Donovan Rosa is currently in the academy and will be joining the police department after he graduates and living in one of the Thomas apartments. New officer Phil Trudal has been doing his field training with Officer Walsh and doing well.

6.      Adjourn; next meeting date to be determined- The next meeting will be held on January 15th at 4:00pm.
The agenda will include a discussion of open meeting laws.

Ms. Tunney made a motion to adjourn at 3:29, Mr. Marthens seconded and all were in favor.
