MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MARCH 23, 2020
THE MEETING WAS HELD REMOTELY IN COMPLIANCE WITH GOVERNOR RAIMONDO’S EXECUTIVE ORDER 20-05- 1. (b) “ SUCH MEANS MAY INCLUDE, WITHOUT LIMITATION, PROVIDING PUBLIC ACCESS THROUGH TELEPHONE, INTERNET, OR SATELLITE ENABLED AUDIO OR VIDEO CONFERENCING OR ANY OTHER TECHNOLOGY THAT ENABLES THE PUBLIC TO CLEARLY FOLLOW THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PUBLIC BODY WHILE THOSE ACITIVITES ARE OCCURING” .
The following items of business, filed with the City Clerk under the Rules of the Council, came before the Council at a special meeting held in accordance with Governor Raimondo’s Executive Order 20-05- 1.(b) on March 23, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

COMMUNICATION FROM THE CITY MANAGER
1. Action Item #5924/20 RE: COVID-19 – State of Emergency – Extension of Time Period (w/accompanying resolution)
MAYOR BOVA moved to receive the communication and adopt the accompanying resolution. Seconded by COUNCILOR MCLAUGHLIN. CITY MANAGER JOSEPH NICHOLSON addressed the Council regarding the Executive Order and ongoing information being provided to the city by the Governor. Discussion occurred among the Council and City Manager Nicholson. COUNCILOR MCLAUGHLIN requested the City Manager to provide written orders going forward.
The motion to receive and approve was VOTED UNANIMOUSLY.
