WORKSHOP RE:  LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES FOR 2023

The following items of business, filed with the City Clerk under the Rules of the Council, came before the Council at a workshop held on February 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840.

 

The CITY CLERK called the Roll and the following members were present:

1.  LEGISLATIVE PRIORTIES FOR 2023

 

MAYOR KHAMSYVORAVONG opened the workshop and welcome Representative Lauren Carson, Representative Marvin Abney and Senator Louis DiPalma.      Discussion occurred among the Council members and Representative Carson, Representative Abney and Senator DiPalma regarding the Council’s priorities for 2023 which included Short Term Rentals, Hotel Tax, Schools, State Aid, Outdoor Dining, Houseboats, Public Safety and PILOT payments.
