Order 15565 - Dial & Save of RI: Registration as a Competitive Switchless Reseller

 

STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND PROVIDENCE PLANTATIONS

PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

ORDER TO RESCIND

WHEREAS, On March 3, 1995, Dial & Save of Rhode Island, Inc. (Company") filed with the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") its Statement of Business Operations and proposed services, rates, charges and regulations for approval as a Competitive Switchless Reseller ("CSR") of telecommunications services in Rhode Island  [1 Registration approved on March 28, 1995. Order No. 14679.]; and

WHEREAS, On February 27, 1998, the Telco Holdings, Inc.  [2 Direct parent corporation of Dial & Save of RI, Inc and CSR registration was approved on July 29, 1997. Order No. 15350.]  d/b/a Dial & Save notified that the pro forma reorganization and merger of Telco Holdings and Dial & Save of Rhode Island has been completed, and requested that the registration of Dial & Save of Rhode Island, Inc. be canceled as the Company will no longer provide service in Rhode Island; and

WHEREAS, On March 12, 1998, the Division filed a memorandum recommending that the registration of Dial & Save of Rhode Island, Inc. be recalled and rescinded;

(15565) ORDERED:

1) That the registration as Competitive Switchless Reseller of Dial & Save of Rhode Island, Inc. is hereby revoked.

2) That the Company is not authorized to provide telecommunications service as a CSR in the State of Rhode Island.

EFFECTIVE AT PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND ON MARCH 17, 1998, PURSUANT TO AN OPEN MEETING DECISION.
