Order 15589 - Sprint Spectrum: Request to Discontinue Operations

PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

ORDER TO RESCIND

WHEREAS, On January 7, 1997, Sprint Spectrum L.P. (Company") filed with the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") its Statement of Business Operations and proposed services, rates, charges and regulations for approval as a Competitive Switchless Reseller ("CSR") of telecommunications services in Rhode Island [1 Registration approved on January 21, 1997. Order No. 15199.]; and

WHEREAS, On March 10, 1998, the Company requested discontinuance of authority to operate in Rhode Island; and

WHEREAS, On April 7, 1998, the Division filed a memorandum recommending that the registration of the Company be recalled and rescinded;

(15589) ORDERED:

1) That the registration as Competitive Switchless Reseller of Sprint Spectrum L.P. is hereby revoked.

2) That the Company is not authorized to provide telecommunications service as a CSR in the State of Rhode Island.

EFFECTIVE AT PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND ON APRIL 22, 1998, PURSUANT TO AN OPEN MEETING DECISION.
