Order 25592 - Verizon RI: Tariff Filing

STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

IN RE:            VERIZON RHODE ISLAND

TARIFF FILING TO CHANGE

RESIDENTIAL RATES

DOCKET NO. 25-58-TL

ORDER

On December 23, 2025, Verizon Rhode Island filed with the Public Utilities Commission (Commission) for an increase in monthly rates to certain Residential telecommunications package offerings.[1] Each of the packages were scheduled to increase by $5.00 per month effective February 1, 2026.[2]

Order No. 19540, approving Verizon’s Successor Alternative Form of Regulation Plan (Successor Plan), approved a settlement between Verizon and the Division of Public Utilities and Carriers and allowed Verizon pricing flexibility, with certain conditions.[3]  Under the Successor Plan, the Division is required to review Verizon’s filing for consistency with Order No. 19540.

On January 12, 2026, the Division filed a memorandum from Joel Munoz, Assistant to Chief Accountant, indicating that the amended tariff complies with the pricing flexibility limitations and that there is no net impact on Lifeline Customers. Accordingly, the Division recommended approval.[4]

At an Open Meeting held on January 20, 2026, the Commission reviewed the record and approved the tariff for effect February 1, 2026, finding it to be consistent with Commission Order No. 19540.

Accordingly, it is hereby

(25592) ORDERED:

Verizon Rhode Island’s tariff, filed on December 23, 2025, is hereby approved for effect on February 1, 2026.

EFFECTIVE AT WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND ON JANUARY 20, 2026, PURSUANT TO AN OPEN MEETING DECISION.  WRITTEN ORDER ISSUED ON FEBRUARY 4, 2026.
