WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2026
A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council was held Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 7:44 p.m., in the Temporary City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 100 Freight St., Pawtucket, RI.
Present – President Mercer; Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Moran, Moreno, Rubio, Stachowiak and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Gregor.
President Mercer presided.
1. The reading of the records of the July 22, 2026 City Council meeting was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
2. Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moreno, the *Consent Agenda was APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote:

a. Traffic Control issues on Rice Street (Stop Signs)
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZED COUNCILOR MORAN
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilors Araujo and Moreno, was PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk was instructed to send a communication to Chris Crawley, Acting Director of Public Works, requesting the installation of “Three-Way Stop” and “Four-Way Stop” signs, “Stop Sign Ahead” signs, and painted traffic lines on Rice Street at or near the intersections of Bart Dr., Archer St., and Weldon St., to help get people to stop at these intersections.
4. Communication from His Honor, Mayor Donald R. Grebien, to the Honorable Members of the Pawtucket City Council, submitting the following reappointment as a member of the Riverfront Commission, FOR CONFIRMATION:

Michael A. Lafond, 190 Littlefield St., Pawtucket, RI 02861. Term expires the 1st Monday in June, 2029, was READ AND ORDERED FILED.

RESOLUTION CHANGING THE DATE OF THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS AND CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 (Statewide Primary Election Day) TO THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2026, AT THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED TIMES.
7. UPON RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMITTEE ON CLAIMS AND PENDING SUITS, THE FOLLOWING CLAIM FOR DAMAGES AGAINST THE CITY WAS APPROVED FOR PAYMENT ON A ROLL CALL VOTE, AS FOLLOWS:
