A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 7:05 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Gregor, Moran, Moreno, Rubio, Stachowiak and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0.

 

Chairperson Mercer presided.

 

1.      The reading of the records of November 11, 2024 was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

 

 

2.      Upon  motion  made  by  Councilor  Araujo,  seconded  by  Councilor  Moran,  the  *Consent Agenda was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.

Speaking was Jose Chacon, 271 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI, applicant.

 

Mr. Chacon wants a beer and wine license. He noted that sales are low and the cost of food is getting higher. This will be another option for diners.

 

He has eight years of experience in the business.  He was a restaurant general manager.

 

He will have five employees. The hours will be from 11:30 a.m. until midnight.

 

The restaurant holds fifty people.

 

He wants to have karaoke or entertainment.

 

He will review TIPS training for the employees.

 

There were no other speakers. The hearing was closed.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZED COUNCILOR GREGOR.

 

With  majority  consent  of  the  Board,  the  following  motion  made  by  Councilor  Gregor, seconded by Councilors Moran and Moreno, was PASSED on a unanimous voice vote.

 

The Clerk was instructed to send a communication to the Police Department, Animal Control and Director of Zoning and Code Enforcement, requesting updated reports regarding issues at Harmony  Kennel,   in   time  for  the  January  8,  2025  Pawtucket   Board  and   License Commissioners meeting.

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moran, the meeting was adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
