A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 7:08 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. Video

 

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Moran, Moreno, Rubio, Stachowiak and Wildenhain.

Absent – Councilor Gregor.

Chairperson Mercer presided.

 

1.      The reading of the records of September 25, 2024 was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk Video

 

2.      Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Rubio, the *Consent Agenda was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote. Video

3.      THE FOLLOWING PETITIONS FOR LICENSES WERE APPROVED ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE: Video

VICTUALLING HOUSE First Class transfer of location –

Ds Spot (Ds Spot LLC) 560 Mineral Spring Avenue LIC#VIC-24-11

(Transfer from 447 Mineral Spring Avenue)

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZED COUNCILOR ARAUJO.

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the agenda was amended to include the following objections, on a unanimous voice vote:

Communication from Gregory A. Mancini, Esq., Sinapi Law Associates, to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, objecting to the transfer of the Class A Liquor License of Gees Liquors (Great Entrepreneurial Endeavors Inc.) to G’s Liquor (RJ’s Liquor) 400 Broadway, in the total amount of $27,383.21 for Mancini Beverage and $21,272.75 for Horizon Beverage.

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the following objections were READ AND ORDERED FILED:

Speaking was Ryan Grady, 102 Tobie Street, Providence, RI., applicant.

Mr. Grady stated that the operation of the business will stay the same.

He will be open seven days a week and the hours will be the same.

There were no others speakers. The hearing was closed.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZED COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Moran, the following petition for license was APPROVED, SUBJECT TO THE SETTLEMENT OF ALL PENDING CLAIMS, on a unanimous voice vote:

5.      A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE, WHICH WAS ADVERTISED FOR A HEARING AT THIS TIME, WAS TAKEN UP: Video

 

CLASS B (VICTUALLER) Transfer – Super Dragon Chinese Restaurant (L &W Restaurant Inc.) 805 Broadway, LIC#16261 (ent)

Speaking were Lin Wang, applicant, and Christine Chen, current owner, both at 648 Armistice Boulevard, Pawtucket, RI.

Mr. Wang stated that there will be no changes in the operation.

Ms. Chen stated that the current hours are 11:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.

There will be four employees.

The business has been there for 22 years.

Mr. Wang will take over from his mom and aunt.

There were no others speakers. The hearing was closed.

Upon motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Moreno, the following petition for license was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote:
