A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 6:48 p.m., in the Temporary City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 100 Freight St., Pawtucket, RI. Video

 

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Gregor, Moreno, Stachowiak and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilors Moran and Rubio.

 

Chairperson Mercer presided.

 

1.      The reading of the records of October 8, 2025 was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk. Video

 

2.      Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moreno, the *Consent Agenda was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote. Video

 

3.      *THE FOLLOWING PETITION FOR LICENSE WAS APPROVED ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE: Video

Speaking in favor was Wilfred Strunk, 22 Pembroke Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, and Jeffrey Ducharme, 167 Mendon Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, applicant.

 

Mr. Strunk stated that he is Mr. Ducharme’s father.

 

Mr. Ducharme stated that he has been working on cars at various garages and would like to open his own shop.

 

Mr. Strunk stated that they have been looking for a building for years. They have had difficulty getting a location approved by zoning.

 

He indicated that they will not be hiring additional employees, as it will be a family-run business.

 

The proposed hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of being open on Saturdays.

 

Mr. Ducharme plans to open the business during the second week of November.

 

He stated that he will maintain the existing fence and keep the building clean.

 

There were no other speakers. The hearing was closed.

Upon motion made by Councilor Stachowiak, seconded by Councilors Araujo, Coderre and Moreno, the following petition for license was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote:
