A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 7:04 p.m., in the Temporary City Council Chambers, 2nd floor, 100 Freight Street, Pawtucket, RI.Video

 

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Moran, Moreno, Rubio and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Gregor and Stachowiak.

 

Chairperson Mercer presided.

 

1.      The reading of the records of August 20, 2025 was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.Video

 

2.      Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the *Consent Agenda was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.Video

2.      All used engine parts, transmission parts, muffler parts, tail gate parts and/or similar mechanical objects shall be stored in the garage. All rubbish shall be stored in a clean and orderly manner and shall be removed from the site a least once a month.

3.      Hours of operation Permitted is 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and closed on Sundays.

4.      All work conducted on the vehicles shall be performed inside the garage.

5.      The operation must obtain a repair shop license from the City.

6.      Sub-letting of the building shall not be permitted.

7.      No unregistered vehicles shall be stored on the property.

 

Speaking in favor was Alberto Alvarado, 23 Arlington Avenue, Cranston, RI, applicant.

 

Mr. Alvarado will take care of the property and keep it clean.

 

He has experience in auto repair from years ago in Providence. He is starting in business again.

 

He will hire a mechanic.

 

There were no other speakers. The hearing was closed.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZED COUNCILOR WILDANHAIN.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilors Araujo and Moran, the following petition for license was APPROVED, with the following stipulations on a unanimous voice vote:

Speaking in favor was Harold Fera, 30 Hunter Ridge Drive, North Scituate, RI, applicant.

 

Mr. Fera stated that there will be rides.  They will be inspected by the state and the city’s electrical inspector.

 

There will be no live animals.

 

He will bring in dumpsters and portable toilets.

 

They will clean up every night and at the end of the event.

With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moran, was PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk was instructed to issue a summons to Harmony Dog Training LLC, 65 Patterson Avenue, to appear at a FORMAL HEARING on Wednesday November 5, 2025, for the following reason:

 

1.      The business has become a nuisance to the neighborhood.
