G.        OATH OF OFFICE

1)         Administration of Oath of Office for School Committee Members Elected November 5, 2024

 

Town Clerk Erin Liese administered the Oath of Office for School Committee Members Jessica Purcell and Karen Reynolds.

 

2)         Administration of Oath of Office for Town Council Members Elected November 5, 2024

 

Chief Johnson administered the Oath of Office for Town Council Member Samantha Wilcox.

 

Town Clerk Erin Liese administered the Oath of Office for Town Council Member Mark Reynolds.

 

Mr. Bill Palmisciano administered the Oath of Office for Town Council Member Jim Palmisciano.

 

Town Clerk Erin Liese administered the Oath of Office for Town Council Member Daniel Madnick.

 

Chief Johnson administered the Oath of Office for Town Council Member Jeffrey Dinsmore.

 

H.        CALL THE MEETING BACK TO ORDER BY THE TOWN CLERK

 

Town Clerk Liese called the meeting back to order at 6:30 P.M.

 

I.          ROLL CALL OF THE 2024-2026 TOWN COUNCIL

 

Council Members Present in Chambers were as follows: Jeffrey Dinsmore, Jim Palmisciano, Daniel Madnick, Mark Reynolds, and Samantha Wilcox. Also present were Town Administrator Karen Pinch, Town Solicitor Mike Cozzolino, Police Chief Elwood Johnson, Emergency Management Director Randy Gemme, Deputy Town Clerk Kendra Tanguay and Town Clerk Erin Liese.

 

J.         NEW BUSINESS

Please Note in Accordance with Section 42-46-6 (b) the Council May Review, Discuss and/or take Action on the following items:

 

1)         Nomination and Selection of Town Council President

 

Town Clerk opened the floor for Nominations and Selection of Town Council President.

 

A nomination was made by Councilor Reynolds to nominate Samantha Wilcox as Town Council President and provided his reasoning.

 

A nomination was made by Councilor Dinsmore to nominate Mark Reynolds as Town Council President.

 

Councilor Palmisciano echoed Councilor Reynold’s remarks regarding Samantha Wilcox for Council President.

 

A motion was made by Councilor Reynolds, seconded by Councilor Palmisciano to nominate Samantha Wilcox as Town Council President. Vote: Councilor Dinsmore, Nay; Councilor Palmisciano, Aye; Councilor Madnick, Aye; Councilor Reynolds, Aye; Councilor Wilcox, Aye.

 

President Wilcox thanked the Council for their nomination and vote for Council President and resumed the roll as Chair.

 

2)         Nomination and Selection of Town Council Vice President

 

President Wilcox opened the floor for Nominations and Selection of Vice President.

 

A motion was made by Councilor Palmisciano, seconded by Councilor Madnick to nominate Mark Reynolds as Town Council Vice President. Vote: President Wilcox, Aye, Councilor Dinsmore, Aye; Councilor Palmisciano, Aye; Councilor Reynolds, Aye; Councilor Madnick, Aye.

 

K.        ADJOURNMENT

 

A motion was made by Councilor Madnick, seconded by Vice President Reynolds to adjourn the meeting at 6:43 P.M. Vote: President Wilcox, Aye; Vice President Reynolds, Aye; Councilor Dinsmore, Aye; Councilor Palmisciano, Aye; Councilor Madnick, Aye.
