11. Town Business - Review, Discussion and/or Potential Action and/or Vote: Video Icon

 

A.   Update from Police Station Building Committee on the status of the Police Station Project, and actions and considerations of the Committee to date

 

B.   Town Council discussion and reconsideration holding the Financial Town Meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, due to State of Emergency and current State social distancing requirements which prevent the Town from holding Financial Town Meeting at this time

 

C.   As the Town is unable to hold the Financial Town Meeting at this time due to the State of Emergency, State social distancing requirements and the Department of Health’s denial of a detailed proposal for holding an Financial Town Meeting in Scituate, request by Town Treasurer for authorization to make available to the Town the same amounts appropriated and approved by the voters at the prior Financial Town Meeting held in April 2019 and to issue tax bills to fund Town operations; Discussion initiated by Town Council President Brady that the Town fully intends to schedule the annual Financial Town Meeting as soon as is practicable to give the voters the opportunity to vote on the budget for this Fiscal Year 2020-2021

 

D.   Request from the Town’s EMA Director, in consultation with the Town Purchasing Agent, to award a bid for the purchase and installation of a generator at the Hope-Jackson Fire Station; Bids submitted: Cutler Besser & Son - $36,568, AM Electric - $43,938, K Electric - $58,300, Calson Corporation - $47,690, Power Equipment - $40,995 and South Shore Generator - $41,395;  Recommendation of the Town’s EMA Director, in consultation with the Town Purchasing Agent, is to award a bid to Power Equipment Services; Authorization to the Treasurer and Purchasing Agent to take any and all such actions, and to approve, execute and deliver all such documents as may be necessary to carry into effect the bid award and to take any other action relative thereto.
