A. The Town Council may vote to move into Executive/Closed session pursuant to R.I.G.L. § 42-46-5 (a) (5) Real Estate, specifically regarding possible acquisition and/or transfer of real estate regarding the Land Trust’s potential acquisition of tax title for Lot 11 on Scituate Tax Assessor’s Plat 20 at the statutorily mandated price pursuant to R.I.G.L. §§ 44-9-18 and 44-9-19. Discussion and/or Potential action, announcement and/or vote(s) from Executive Session and/or Open Session regarding the Land Trust’s potential acquisition of tax title for Lot 11 on Scituate Tax Assessor’s Plat 20 at the statutorily mandated price pursuant to R.I.G.L. §§ 44-9-18 and 44-9-19.
B. Authorization for the Town Council President, in consultation with the Town Council Vice President and the Emergency Management Agency Director, to continue the Town State of Emergency through July 15, 2021, unless revoked earlier; ratification of all actions undertaken pursuant to Town State of Emergency since the previous extension.
A. Request from the Scituate Land Trust and Scituate Conservation Commission for a Resolution Supporting Esek Hopkins Park Reforestation and Revitalization Grant Request. (See attached)
A. An update from EMA Director John Robinson on the Town’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and an update on the status of the vaccine distribution plan for the Town.
B. Request from the Scituate Business Association and the Scituate Recreation Department (co-sponsors) for permission to use the parking lot and gazebo next to the North Scituate Elementary School for “Christmas in the Village in July” to be produced by Reggie Centracchio and scheduled for Sunday, July 25, 2021 (Rain date) Sunday, August 1, 2021.
C. Approval of Tax Assessor’s request for permission to attend the 2021 IAAO Annual Conference, with overnight Travel to Chicago as recommended by the Treasurer.
D. Request from Chief Rollinson for approval to apply for the U. S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services (“COPS”) Grant to hire an Officer for FY 2021 under the COPS Hiring Program (“CHP”).
E. Request from Chief Rollinson, in consultation with the Purchasing Agent, for approval to purchase 2 new police cruisers from the state Master Purchasing Agreement, each complete with equipment outfitting, in an amount not to exceed $95,000.00 total for both vehicles, with funds from the Detail L account.
F. Authorization for the Town, in collaboration with the Scituate School Department, to enter into a partnership with the Kent County Water Authority (“KCWA”) regarding the extension of the water line further up North Road/Route 116 to Hope Elementary School in support of the Fire Suppression System. The Town and School Department to share the total cost apportioned to the Town and School Department, currently estimated at $165,000, to be shared equally (KCWA is also paying for part of the water line extension, which is in addition to the Town/School Department share). Authorization for the Town Council President and Town Treasurer, each, to take any further action and execute any and all documents necessary.
G. Authorization for Town Council President and Town Treasurer to begin process to change the Town’s Fiscal Year to coincide with the State’s Fiscal Year. Said question to be submitted to the electors at a Financial Town Meeting at a date to be determined by the Town Council President and Town Treasurer.
