A. The Town Council may convene into Executive Session to discuss, take possible action, and/or vote pursuant to the relevant requirements of R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-46-5 (a) Subsection (1), a discussion of the job performance, character, or physical or mental health of an employee, provided that such person affected shall have been notified in advance in writing and advised that he may require that the discussion be held at an open meeting. Discussion and/or Potential action, announcement and/or vote(s) from Executive Session and/or Open Session concerning the affected employee.

A. Resolution Regarding Contracts for A Water Project at The Scituate Public Schools

A. Update on the Plastic Waster Reduction Act (R.I.G.L. § 23-19.18-1 et. seq.) passed by the General Assembly, effective January 1, 2024, concerning the prohibition of the use of plastic bags; possible authorization for an informational campaign about the new law as proposed by the Conservation Commission and the Sustainability Initiatives Committee.
B. Authorization to hire Tammy Loghry as recommended by Senior Services Director Cheryl Ignacio, as a part-time employee. The employees’ hours will not exceed 19.5 hours/week with current salary to be determined by Town Council.
C. Authorization to hire Heather Card and Dawn Wallitsch as recommended by Senior Services Director Cheryl Ignacio, as a per diem employees, with an hourly rate to be determined by the Town Council.
D. Consideration to request that the State of Rhode Island designate a section of Danielson Pike as having limited commercial access by establishing no-through-trucking from the Hartford Ave. and Danielson Pike split near the IGA plaza through the intersection with Danielson Pike and the Rt. 6 Bypass just west of Rt. 102.
E. Discussion on the use of funds awarded to the Town in association with the National Opioid Settlement
F. Recommendation from the Town Treasurer to adjust the Finance Director’s salary and/or hours with possible retroactivity to July 1, 2023.
G. Possible amendment to the Town of Scituate Employee Human Resource Policy Manual Section 7: Holidays.
H. Approval to extend the lease agreement, per the terms of the current lease between the Town and Hope Associates governing the use of Hope Associates’ properties; authorization for the Town Council Vice President to sign any and all documents necessary, extension will expire March 2024

L. Authorization to post an RFP seeking proposals for the Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
M. Authorization for the Town to receive services from Weston & Sampson Engineers, Inc., through the State of Rhode Island Municipal Technical Assistance Program (“MTAP”), administered by Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation (“RI Housing”), to further update the Scituate Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations to meet new state land use requirements concerning housing, at no cost to the Town; authorization for the Town Council President, in consultation with the Town Solicitor, to sign any and all documents necessary to implement the foregoing.
