E.   Consideration of Request from the Scituate School Committee and the North Scituate Elementary School to amend Ordinance § 7-1, which currently designates Institute Lane as “Not a Through Street”, allows the Director of Public Works to place signs and erect barriers to close the street from through traffic, and punishes violations of the ordinance in accordance with Ordinance § 1-4.

 

F.   Consideration of request from Diana & Winfield Hicks, owners of 461 Old Plainfield Pike (Plat 51, Lot 30) for permission to create ten burial plots on said property; Notices having been sent to abutters; with any approval subject to R.I. Department of Health requirements and any other applicable state regulations.

 

G.   Consideration of authorizing the Town Solicitor to draft and present an ordinance regulating cemeteries in the Town of Scituate in accordance with R.I.G.L. § 23-18-10.

 

H.   Approval of the purchase of medication lock boxes for the Scituate Senior Center in the amount of $5,000. Funds to be used from the Opioid Settlement Funds.

 

I.    Possible authorization of the Purchasing Agent, in consultation with the Town Treasurer and Town Council President, to engage professional Building & Zoning services on as-needed basis due to unavailability of the Building & Zoning Official through emergency procurement process under R.I.G.L. § 45-55-8(b); any said engagement of professionals to be ratified by the Town Council at a later meeting.

 

J.    Recommendation from the Director of Public Works to create, and an authorization to post internally, the position of a Deputy Director of the Department of Public Works, an exempt, supervisory, non-union position as defined in the current collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 251, with a suggested salary range of $75,000 – $85,000 annually, based on knowledge and experience of successful candidate, and all other benefits in accordance with the Town of Scituate Human Resource Policy Manual.
