OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AND PLAN COMMISSION
PROPOSED AMENDMENT
TO THE TOWN OF SCITUATE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 1956, § 45-22.2-8, that the Scituate Town Council and Plan Commission will hold a joint public hearing, open to the public, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. at the Scituate High School, 94 Trimtown Road, North Scituate, RI 02857 to consider an amendment to the Town of Scituate Comprehensive Plan.
A copy of the proposed amendment can be reviewed by requesting a hard copy through the Scituate Planning Department between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays, or by downloading them from the town’s website at www.scitutaeri.gov.
The proposed amendments may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment made to the comprehensive plan must be presented and heard during the course of the public hearing. Amendments take effect upon passage.
Anyone wishing to be heard on these proposed Comprehensive Community Plan revisions should be present at the aforementioned date and time.  Persons requiring assistance should contact the Office of the Town Clerk at 401-647-2882 at least three business days prior to the hearing date.
SUMMARY OF PROPOSED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT
The existing Future Land Use Map will be amended to change Lot 55 on Tax Assessor’s Plat 28 from a split of RR 120 & RS 120 to a split of RR 120 & BG (Business General), with a smaller RR 120 Zone than currently exists. This proposed change is part of an application to amend the existing zoning designation of Lot 55 on Tax Assessor's Plat 28 on the Official Zoning Map from a split of RR 120 & RS 120 to a split of RR 120 & BG (Business General), with a smaller RR 120 Zone than currently exists.
