Convene into executive session to consider, discuss, and act upon matters pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws Section 42-46-5(a)(1) Personnel; to interview Russell Potter, James Leach, Joe Siegel, Kathy Greenwood, and Cynthia Roberts for possible appointment or reappointment to a Town board or commission.

VI.       Minutes: 

 

A.  Move that the minutes of the September 6, 2022 executive session meeting held pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws Section 42-46-5(a)(1) Personnel; to interview Annie Bayer and John Snavely for possible appointment or reappointment to a Town board or commission be approved as recorded and sealed.

 

B.  Move that the minutes of the September 6, 2022 open session meeting be approved as recorded.

 

VII.      Consider, discuss and act upon the following possible appointments and reappointments: 

 

A.  Land Trust appointments with terms expiring in September of 2023 (2).

 

VIII.    Public Hearings: 

 

A.  Conduct a public hearing to consider and act upon amendments to Chapter 198 of the Code of Ordinances entitled “Fire Prevention” to amend Article XIV entitled “General Precautions Against Fire”.

 

B.  Conduct a public hearing to consider and act upon amendments to Chapter 198 of the Code of Ordinances entitled “Fire Prevention” to adopt Article XXIII entitled “Two-Way Radio Communication Enhancement Systems”.

 

C.  Schedule a public hearing on October 4, 2022 to consider and act upon authorizing a resolution to adopt the Smithfield Community Septic System Loan Program’s borrower’s eligibility criteria.

 

D.  Schedule a public hearing on October 4, 2022 to consider and act upon amendments to Chapter 294 of the Code of Ordinances entitled “Sewers” to add Section 294-38 entitled “Community Septic System Loan Program Appropriation Notes”.

 

E.   Schedule a public hearing on October 4, 2022 to consider and act upon adopting Chapter 184 of the Code of Ordinances entitled “Efficient Buildings”.

 

IX.       Licenses: 

 

A.  Consider, discuss, and act upon approving a new Mobile Food Truck License for Farm to Sandwich, LLC d/b/a “Farm to Sandwich”, 14 Abbot Street, Cranston, with a RI Reg. number 45029, as applied, subject to compliance with all State regulations and local ordinances.

XI.       New Business:

 

A.  Consider, discuss, and act upon authorizing a request from Ocean State Multisport to hold a Sour Apple Road Race in Deerfield Park on Sunday, July 9, 2023.

 

B.  Consider, discuss, and act upon authorizing a request for proposals for the purchase of tax administration and tax collection software, subject to review by the Town Solicitor.

 

C.  Consider, discuss, and act upon approving tax abatements in the amount of five thousand, six hundred dollars and three cents. ($5,600.03).
