At a WORK SESSION of the Town Council of the Town of South Kingstown, County of Washington, in the State of Rhode Island held at the Town Hall, in and for said Town on the 4th day of August 2021 at 7:00 PM.

Also present: Theresa Murphy, Interim Town Manager; School Committee members: Paula Whitford, Chair, Michelle Brousseau, Vice Chair, Melissa Boyd, and Katherine Macinanti; and Andrew Henneous, School Committee Attorney.
The Pledge of Allegiance is given.
The Town Council and School Committee members interview applicants to fill 2 School Committee vacancies until November 2022. Each applicant is interviewed for approximately 20 minutes using a list of interview questions that had been compiled for this purpose regarding the following topics:
· Choosing a new Superintendent
· Candidate’s Personal Attributes – strengths and knowledge as it pertains to the School Committee roles
· School Committee: Trust, Role, Priorities, Communication
· School Facilities
· Enrollment & Redistricting
· Equity & Racism
· Programs, Policies & Curriculum
Sean M. Cote gives a statement concerning his interest in being appointed to the School Committee. Mr. Cote responds to questions from individual Town Council and School Committee members selected from their list of topics, and discussion ensues.
Carol A. Vetter gives a statement concerning her interest in being appointed to the School Committee. Ms. Vetter responds to questions from individual Town Council and School Committee members selected from their list of topics, and discussion ensues.
James J. Patalano gives a statement concerning his interest in being appointed to the School Committee. Mr. Patalano responds to questions from individual Town Council and School Committee members selected from their list of topics, and discussion ensues.
Kaitlyn M. Roebuck gives a statement concerning her interest in being appointed to the School Committee. Ms. Roebuck responds to questions from individual Town Council and School Committee members selected from their list of topics, and discussion ensues.
It is noted that Jo Ann E. Basel was scheduled to be interviewed this evening but withdrew her application.
