I.          Call to Order:

            Dr. Mega called the January 5, 2010 School Committee Meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

II.        A work session was conducted on the topic of the Rhode Island Memorandum of Understanding for Participating School LEAs for Race to the Top Grant Project.

III.       Executive Session

MSV (1) motion to move to Executive Session under RIGL 42-46-5 for the purpose of collective bargaining (Mueller/Frostic, 5-0-0).

            The Committee recessed to executive session.

            The Committee returned to open session at 10:45 PM.

MSV (2) move to accept the superintendent’s recommendation to participate in the Race to the Top federal grant opportunity, and to direct the superintendent and the School Committee Chair to sign on their behalf, committing to participate in the areas of the document reviewed and recommended during open session and submitting the grant to RIDE on January 8, 2010. (Mueller/Frostic, 5-0-0).

            MSV (3) move to seal the minutes of the Executive Session and adjourn at 10:50 PM, (Mueller/Cotter, 5-0-0).
