Initial Budget Hearing

The Town Council shall schedule a public hearing no later than January 15 for the

purpose of discussing and soliciting comments from the residents relating to the

general goals and objectives of the budget for the next fiscal year, prior to the

preparation and presentation of a proposed budget by the Town Manager. Matters for

discussion and consideration may include, without limitation, any increase or decrease

in taxes, proposed new projects, contractual obligations, and other items affecting the

budget. Notice of the hearing shall be published no less than ten (10) calendar days prior to the hearing.

Chapter 9-Garbage, Trash and Refuse, Article III. Solid Waste Disposal and       Recycling, Section 9-59. Leaf, lawn, and garden matter. (2nd reading)

 

(a)    Leaf, lawn, and garden matter contained in paper bags will be picked up curbside on regular collection days weekly from April 1 until December 1 31. Christmas trees will be picked up curbside on regular collection days from January 1 through January 31.

(b) Chipping program: Brush will be collected and chipped by the department of public works by appointment only with the following restrictions:

(1) Piles must be placed curbside on the day of collection, or as instructed by the department of public works.

(2) Piles must be no higher than three (3) feet and no wider than four (4) feet.

(3) Brush larger than four (4) inches in circumference will not be accepted.

(4)   No logs or stumps will be accepted.

(5)   No piles generated by landscapers will be accepted.

3.      Discussion, action, and authorization for the Town Council President to sign Letter of Support for University of Rhode Island (URI) Ocean Engineering’s application to the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) FEMA Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) 2023-ASCE 7-22 standards grant program.

               

4.      Discussion, action, and authorization for Town Council President to sign the contract amendment No.2-updated design and permitting services with Fuss & O’Neill for Jamiels Park Restoration Project-Phase 3.

 

      5. Discussion and action regarding EDA Application for Warren Wastewater Treatment

          Facility- electrical upgrades project.

 

 

 

FIRE CHIEF:

 

      1. Discussion, action, and authorization from the Town Council to retain funds from the sale of the Maxim Fire Truck, GMC Yukon, and Ford Expedition in the amount of            $9,550.00 to be used to re-purchase our 2016 Rescue in the amount of $8,500.00.
