Chapter 12-Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Article II. Operations of Vehicles

Section 12-29. Left turn prohibited on certain streets. (2nd reading)

The driver of a vehicle shall not be permitted to make a left hand turn on the following streets:

Metacom Avenue North, traveling in a southerly direction onto Kickemuit Road.

Child Street, the driver of a vehicle traveling in a Westerly direction, shall not be permitted to make a left hand turn onto Arlington Avenue.

Child Street, the driver of a vehicle traveling in an Easterly direction shall not be permitted to make a left hand turn onto Metacom Avenue.

Miller Street, the driver of a vehicle shall not be permitted to make a left hand turn onto Miller Street from the south driveway of the business located at #375 Main Street (plat 3, lot 20) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

No person owning, possessing, or having the care of any vehicle of any description shall store or permit the same to remain ~~unemployed and out of use~~ unused and unattended in any street or part of a highway except temporarily in case of emergency.

If any such vehicle is on a town street or public highway, 48-hour notice to remove the vehicle shall be placed on the vehicle by the police: provided, however, that if such vehicle constitutes a present hazard or unduly obstructs traffic ingress to or egress from private or public property, the vehicle may be removed by the police without any prior notice.

Discussion and action regarding Ordinance Chapter 18-Streets and Sidewalks, Article I. In General Sec. 18-7 Drainage of water into any street is generally prohibited.

(a) No person or business shall pump or allow water to drain in any manner whatsoever, directly, or indirectly, onto any street or road within the town from any source, that would in any manner create a hazardous condition or cause damage to a public way or sidewalk, except in emergency situations where the Town of Warren DPW Director or designee shall be advised and give consent prior to any discharge activities commencing.

(b) Natural drainage from driveways and lawns is specifically exempt from the requirements of this section.

(c) Violations and penalties.

(1) Any person or business that has been found to violate the provisions of this section by the Town of Warren DPW Director shall first be warned in writing and given thirty

(30) days to correct the violation. If the violation is not corrected within thirty (30)

days of the date the notice of violation is sent, the person or business shall be fined a

sum not [to] exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each day of the violation.

(2) Any person or business fined under the provisions of this article shall have the right to appeal the finding of violation within fifteen (15) days of service of the notice

thereof. Such appeals shall be taken to the Warren Municipal Court.
