SPECIAL MEETING Tuesday, February 11, 2020

6 P.M. MEETING MINUTES

1.    Meeting called to Order by the Town Council

 

 

 

The meeting was called to order by President Gosselin at 6:13 p.m.

 

 

 

2.    Roll Call taken by Town Clerk

 

 

 

Members Present: Councilman Licciardi, Councilman Messier, Councilwoman Williamson, Council Vice President D’Amico, Council President Gosselin

 

Members Absent: None

 

3.    Quorum on Record

 

The Town Council Clerk declared a quorum for the record.

 

4.   Others Present: Town Manager Ernie Zmyslinski, Town Solicitor Tim Williamson, Town Planner Mark Carruolo, Emily Innis-Harriman Director of Planning

 

5.     Comprehensive Planning Workshop/public hearing for consideration of Ordinance 2019-7 - Town Council to host a public workshop/public hearing to review the West Warwick Comprehensive Plan Update and consider an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the Town of West Warwick by adding thereto Appendix D, Entitled “Town of West Warwick Comprehensive Plan Update 2019.”

Council Vice President D’Amico moved the item, seconded by Councilman Messier. The vote was unanimous.

 

Town Planner  Mark  Carruolo and  Emily  Innis  gave  an overview of where the  Town is  at this  point with the Comprehensive Plan.

 

The State of Rhode Island requires that municipalities must update their Comprehensive Plan every ten years. In West Warwick, four meetings and three public forums were held covering the 13 chapters of the plan outline. A Land Use and Implementation Plan are being worked on.

 

Councilman Messier moved to take this item off the table, seconded by Councilwoman Williamson. The vote was unanimous.

 

Councilwoman Williamson moved the item, seconded by Council vice President D’Amico.

The vote was unanimous.

 

 

 

The second reading of this ordinance will be heard on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

 

6.    Adjournment

 

 

Councilman Messier made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilwoman Williamson. The vote was unanimous. The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m.
