FY22 BUDGET WORKSHOP
MINUTES

The meeting called to order by Town Council President Gosselin at 6:07 p.m.

Acting Town Manager, Knott highlighted the following:
This is the first of the two scheduled workshops of the Fy2022 proposed budget and all departments will present their budgets.
The proposed budget features an overall increase of around $5.4 million – although the Town Council has begun to work on whittling that down – which 2.1 million is on the municipal side while $3.3 million is on the school side.
The budget proposed includes a tax levy increase around 2% or just above $1.2 million tax rate under the managers proposed budget is projected 2.1% dependent on finalized tangible tax returns.
Funds included in the general government for our current collective bargaining processes. The capital expenditure request in this proposal is $436,000 contains 100% contribution of our pension arc $358, 000 was included for our property revaluation process in this fiscal year. The tax collection rate was increased from 96.8 % to 97% and the proposed use of $500,000 from the fund balance as a balancing mechanism.
